Multiscale modeling of fundamental biophysical processes in both dividing and non-dividing cells

My group's research combines physics, chemistry, biology, computer science, and information science to better understand the role of the cytoskeleton, especially in the context of cancer biology and neuroscience. The key challenge is to develop a consistent modeling framework to transfer data between time and size scales, from molecules to proteins to cells to tissues, accounting for the effects of a single molecular event on the behaviour of a whole cell or tissue.
