FA Design is an established outerwear company positioning itself to break into the snowboarding hard goods market. They want to design a universal and superior mounting system for alpine racing plates. The company approached SAIT's Sports and Wellness Engineering Technologies (SWET) research group to design and prototype a system that addresses issues of sticking, torsion and recoil through three milestones: research current technologies; iterative design; and prototyping. The project will deliver prototypes to be tested by FA Design's team of nine sponsored riders.
