Current evidences support a benefit for dairy bioactive nutrients against inflammatory reactions. Although the specific mechanisms underlying these effects have not been fully elucidated, convincing evidences support the hypothesis that dairy components, such as fat and proteins, actively impact the release of pro-inflammatory molecules. Further, earlier mechanistic studies have investigated the beneficial effects of individual dairy fat and proteins on inflammation. However, the possibility that these bioactive molecules synergise together has never been studied.
