Canada has significant natural gas resources, which are primarily extracted and exported or used for heat andpower production domestically. It is economically attractive to also convert the extracted natural gas tohigher-value feedstocks for use in other industries, e.g., conversion of natural gas to ethane for production ofpolyethylene (plastics). In this work, we will develop a new research reactor to evaluate the potential forproducing higher value products from natural gas using membrane-based oxidative coupling of methane.
