RCS Energy Services Ltd. (RCS) provides multi-disciplinary engineering and integrated services in mining, oiland gas, water and project management. The company is developing a proprietary soil remediation technology(SRT) that will provide an alternative to the current treatment of crude oil laden produced sands and drillcuttings. The SRT is capable of treating and remediating these waste products to such an extent they could bereturned back into the natural environment. In addition, the SRT would allow for the enhanced recovery ofhydrocarbons that have historically remained in the waste stream. RCS approached the EnvironmentalTechnologies applied research group at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology to collaborate on theoptimization of the SRT methods and process and move it closer to full commercialization.
