For this research project, new digital control methods will be developed for solar energy harvesting systems. In**particular, the proposed control methods can achieve optimal performance for solar DC optimizers. The**proposed control system will be integrated into Solantro's control IC for solar applications. This IC is called**Maximizer Controller (MAXC) integrated circuit and it is the central controller for the DC-optimizer and for**the DC stage of micro-inverter applications. It provides the control functions for DC/DC power conversion**topologies which are used to harvest solar panel power at the maximum power point (MPP). This project will**provide a new control solution, which is able to provide superior performance for solar DC optimizers. This**solution will greatly benefit the company by producing high performance solar DC optimizers.
