Amotus Solutions is a high-quality design house specialized in embedded industrial devices. It is a company of 20 engineers, programmers and managers, brought together to connect a smart, sustainable and responsible world. Among others, Amotus offers a unique and complete IoT (Internet of things) platform for several major applications. However, the current platform has limitations that prevent Amotus from responding well to the growing demand of its customers. Indeed, Amotus notes that an increased life time and a long range of transmission are increasingly important elements in today's landscape of connected objects. Amotus is looking to expand its offering to capture the growing markets associated to the IoT by enhancing its IoT platforms with advanced functions, such as longer reach and increased autonomy, to gain a competitive advantage and to continue reaching more customers.****This project aims to develop a wireless Bluetooth Low Energy beacon operating in a stand-alone mode using one or more energy harvesting methods (radio frequency (RF), solar, vibration, etc.) and offering a longer reach. These advanced features will be developed by Professor Gosselin's team at Université Laval who is specialized in the design of low-power and wireless microelectronic systems. Their solution will enrich Amotus's IoT platforms by enabling longer reach and improved autonomy, which will provide Amotus with a competitive advantage to expand its offering and capture new and growing markets in the field of connected objects.
