英文摘要
Devonian health Group Inc. is a renowned botanical pharmaceutical corporation with novel therapeutic approaches targeting worldwide unmet medical needs. The mission and vision of Devonian Health Group Inc. is to commercialize evidence-based antimicrobial products derived from medicinal plant extracts and essential oils of botanicals for organic and commercial agricultural markets. Devonian Health Group Inc. is focusing on developing low cost effective botanical products with antimicrobial activity to prevent phytopahtogens for use in North America focusing on the agricultural sector including the growing market of Cannabis products. With this first NSERC Engage, Devonian Health Group Inc. would like to obtain evidence that provides an independent assessment of the potential antifungal/antimicrobial properties of a wide range of botanical extracts and essential oils and subsequently create more potent formulations based on the research that will be performed by Professor S. Jabaji, McGill, the PI of this NSERC-ENGAGE proposal. The overall arching goal is to understand the microbiological spectrum of antifungal/antimicrobial activity of several botanical extracts before commercializing any first generation product. In addition, the research data generated by this project will allow us to focus on specific agricultural markets. This collaboration offers a unique opportunity to Devonian Health Group Inc. to acquire a high throughput (HTP) screening approach for selection of the most effective botanical pesticide applied at the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) to crops including Cananbis and incorporate it into the company's strategic planning. The identification of the most potent botanical pesticide provides Devonian Health Inc. an independent assessment and scientific evidence on the effective dose of the botanicals as well as the biotechnological potential to develop a monotherapy-type line of formulations targeted for specific agricultural markets.
