The CTRI collaborates with KMX Membranes Technologies to validate the potential of integrated ultrasonic and ozonation processes for treatment of oily wastewater. Due to the high concentration of oil and grease (O&G) in such effluents, its efficient treatment for regulation satisfaction is a main concern. The CTRI has seen the potential application of these technologies to maximize the removal of O&G from oil-sand effluents. Part 1 covers the effluent characterization and the optimization of the process performance to separate the oil. Part 2 covers the optimization of ozonation process. Finally, the synergic effect of two process will be performed. Upon completion of the project, a promising solution in terms of both economic and ecological impacts will be presented.
