英文摘要
A preparative high-pressure liquid purification (HPLC) system is requested for the purification of organic molecules. Preparative HPLC is one of the most powerful purification methods, and is amenable to the purification of molecules on scales up to hundreds of milligrams.******Current best practice for synthetic organic chemists requires purification of products with purities of 95%. The proposed system will allow for the purification of a variety of different molecular types, including heterocycles, alkaloids, peptides, depsipeptides, macrocycles, terpenoids, peptidomimetics, and peptide small-molecule and other bioconjugates. The system will allow for rapid purification of challenging samples that would otherwise be impossible or very difficult to purify using conventional methods such as flash column chromatography. Moreover, HPLC purification is often required as a final step before biological testing. The proposed HPLC system will have a transformative effect on our ability to tackle synthetic and medicinal chemistry problems and projects that would otherwise not be possible.******The proposed HPLC system will be utilized as a “walk-on” instrument and will primarily service the needs of students and post-doctoral researchers from two research groups. However, the system will be made available to other users in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Toronto. Students trained in the area of organic chemistry are highly sought after by employers in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and materials sectors. As such, this workhorse instrument will provide invaluable training experience for HQP with synthetic organic or medicinal chemistry training.**
