项目摘要

Environmental computer models are regularly employed for water and energy management, but are limited by data availability and computational resources. Dr. Craigs research group looks to develop fast, flexible, and smart environmental computer models that are only as complex as is justified by the available data. Because these science-based models are faster and more transparent, they are better able to help put error bounds on our predictions, also helping inform where additional data is needed. These more trustworthy models enable decision makers to make informed decisions about Canadas water and energy resources, protecting the environment and public health.
