We have engineered a new type of endovascular hydrogel delivery system. Our technology, Hydrogel Endovascular Adaptive BioExtrusion System (HEABES), is a catheter-based, multi-material (hydrogels and/or nutrients, bioactive factors, cells) co-extrusion device that can dynamically change physicochemical properties while maintaining high spatiotemporal delivery accuracy, suitable for drug delivery, tissue engineering, and embolization. In this project we aim to perform design refinement and testing to prove its efficacy bot in vitro and in vivo. This new technology represents a safer and more effective method of embolization, drug delivery and potential for minimally invasive tissue engineering approaches.
