英文摘要
Optical coherence tomography (OCT) has become a gold-standard in retinal imaging, and is often used in the diagnosis of numerous conditions, including age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. While current OCT systems are able to provide both structural and angiography (known as OCT-A) images of the retina, current scanning can be somewhat slow, leading to motion artefacts that can obscure images and lead to improper or missed diagnosis. To solve this problem, we have developed a OCT-A algorithm capable of conducting en face imaging of the retina in real-time, allowing for the entire tissue to be captured without motion artefacts. This both solves the problem of bulk motion, and potentially opens new avenues of exploration for applications of retinal OCT-A imaging in neurology and psychiatry. In this proposal, we will examine the potential market need for such OCT-A imaging of the retina, and determine the potential for a path forward towards commercialization of systems leveraging these new algorithms to improve and expand upon the diagnostic capabilities of OCT and OCT-A.
