The aim of this project is development of an imaging modality that can be easily added to the patient's or clinician's mobile device to enable additional "beneath-the-skin" pathophysiological functional imaging such as fluorescence and oxygenation. Developing the fluorescence and oxygenation modalities will provide unprecedented insight into bacterial accumulation and blood perfusion mapping towards the specific research challenge of the project to be addressed: making the proposed modalities work at the same level of accuracy for different skin tones to ensure our product will promote health outcomes for a diverse patient population.
