The collaborating company Silent Floor Solutions faces challenges selecting the best method to identify and localize the source of sound noise in various living, commercial and industrial settings for its cost-effective fixing. The company has not found a suitable technology recently available on the market. Developing such a technology in cooperation with academic group of Prof. Douplik, the company plans to create an automatic system for diagnostics of noises localizing the sound source in various commercial and industrial settings and environments at high precision. The joint research team works on non-invasively detecting the source of sound on a 2D map while testing various technologies such as either acoustical or optical or their combination. The noise generated by squeaky floors directly impacts people's health, as they generate an unhealthy amount of background noise, as well as cause sleep interruptions in people of all ages.
