Design optimisation of tanks for hydrogen storage in advanced materials

Hydrogen in Motion (Vancouver) want to launch a research project to develop and optimize an advanced materials hydrogen storage tank with economically viable manufacturing process. This new technology will provide a low pressure and safer hydrogen tanks at low cost for the automotive, aerospace and shipbuilding industries. This development would provide continued growth in current markets and in the hydrogen production and fuel cell industries, which represent a strategic sector for Canada. This first collaboration with CMQ aims at establishing a R&D partnership. This Engage project will consist of three different steps: (1) Testing of the thermal and hydrogen sorption properties of the material, (2) Thermal and mechanical modeling of the tank (3) Result analysis and proposal of an adapted manufacturing process.
