The CRC in Electric Energy Storage Systems for Transportation Electrification is focused on advanced power electronics solutions for energy storage and management systems, ultracapacitor power management, and plugged and wireless charging/wireless power transfer (WPT) technologies. The renewal program includes several new interdisciplinary initiatives in the areas of transportation electrification and autonomous e-mobility. The high-level goals of the program are specifically related to power electronic converters for DC fast charging, static wireless fast charging, autonomous/in-motion/dynamic wireless charging, and electric energy storage emulators and health-conscious battery management/charging. This CRC program will position Canada as an international leader in e-transportation manufacturing and development.
