本项目将部分支持美国数学科学学者到法国伊维特河畔布尔斯高等科学研究所（IHES）进行访问研究。这个国际研究所与新泽西州普林斯顿的高级研究所相当，除了得到美国国家科学基金会的支持外，还得到了其他一些国家科学机构的部分支持。IHES的研究领域包括代数几何和数论、群表示和不变量、调和分析、凸集和分析、几何和拓扑、与代数、微分几何、动力系统、遍历理论、广义相对论和宇宙学相关的离散群。

This project will partially support the research visits of U.S. scholars in the mathematical sciences to the Institut des Hautes Etudes Scientifiques (IHES) in Bures-sur-Yvette, France. This international institute is comparable to the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, New Jersey and, in addition to support from the National Science Foundation, is supported in part by science agencies in a number of other countries. Areas of research at the IHES include algebraic geometry and number theory, group representations and invariants, harmonic analysis, convex sets and analysis, geometry and topology, discrete groups in relation with algebra, differential geometry, dynamical systems, and ergodic theory, and general relativity and cosmology.
