Ending Notes: Preparation for the End of Life in Japan

In the fiscal year of 2022-2023 new data was collected from new areas of the country, particularly Kansai. New shuukatsu groups and seminars were observed, and plans for new interviews with lecturers and ending note writers were made for the next year. Regarding publications, in February 2023, an academic article was published in journal describing the results of the genre analysis conducted in the ending notes. Lastly, the data collected thus far is being further analyzed and organized to be published in academic articles, a book, and academic conferences in the next two years.
