The aim of this proposal is to acquire funding for the purchase of a -80 freezer. This piece of equipment is essential for experimentation using modern molecular biological techniques. The requested equipment will serve the needs of researchers, their students and postdoctoral fellows in the Department of Cell and Systems Biology at the University of Toronto. Research in the department encompasses a range of fields in the life sciences including cell and developmental biology, genetics, and physiology. The equipment is essential for molecular biological techniques involving the production, isolation, purification and manipulation of proteins and nucleic acids.
