英文摘要
The Canadian wine industry has developed rapidly over the past decade, and Canadian wines are held in high-esteem both nationally and internationally. However, Canadian viticultural regions are characterized by short ripening seasons, which often limits the achievement of optimal fruit composition for the production of premium wines. Dr. Castellarin will study the biological mechanisms that control ripening in grapes and how they are affected by the climate in order to develop new viticultural practices for improving grape production in Canada, resulting in better fruit composition and a strong potential for higher quality and more valuable wine.
