Through linked-cruise control, connected autonomous vehicle (CAV) networks constitute an emerging cyber-physical system with considerable potential to improve vehicle safety, reduce traffic congestion, and have a positive impact on the environment. With CAV, the number of autonomous vehicles and the distance traveled on roads will grow, and the implementation of autonomous driving would drastically reduce the number of car accidents caused by human error. The demand for car repair services, medical services, and traffic cops will all decline. Greater situational awareness, collaborative decision-making, and improved control are all possible with CAV's communication networks. The research problem of CAV has attracted considerable attention from industry, governments, and academics from different fields. These include automation, control, and communication. It is evident that as the technology and complexity of autonomous vehicles evolve, several grand challenges need to be addressed. The applicant has recently developed novel algorithms for defect identification and mitigation that simply employ accessible sensors. The goal of this market assessment application is to refine and implement the design of these algorithms, test them in linked multi-agent systems, and demonstrate their utility in the industry. The research team wants to develop a CAV platoon system and design a physical component or electronic circuit that can be produced in Canada. The proposed method is unique, and there is no other technology like it on the market right now. We plan to commercialize our created technology with the help of Memorial University's Technology Transfer and Commercialization Office (TTCO). The commercialization strategy includes seeking an NSERC I2I market assessment grant as the first stage. We expect to leverage the services from a consultant, the Kanata North Mobility Group, to conduct market research and technology validation. With an independent market assessment from a third-party organization, we can more objectively understand the pros and cons of our proposed technology for marketing and commercialization.
