Abstract: This grant provides funding, primarily for junior participants, for the conference, Interdisciplinary Inverse Problems: Opening conference for IPRPI, being held at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, April 5-7, 2004. This conference announces the opening of IPRPI, the Inverse Problems center at RPI. Inverse problems is a growing, active research area and the response to both the center and to the conference has been enthusiastic. The conference is the first in what is planned to be a series of conferences. This particular conference is broad based and emphasizes junior researcher participation as well as well known senior researchers and 40-50 researchers in their early career attend out of total of 100 attendees. All participants are active researchers and have the opportunity to give a talk on their own work.
