项目摘要

本研究は、イギリスと中国の影響下で、香港において各種の政治勢力はいかに戦争の記憶を扱ったのか、その扱い方と住民のアイデンティティはどう関連するのか、そこで「日本」はいかに想起されているかを考察する。2022年度の主な研究実績は以下の三つである。1）香港への現地調査で、香港シティーホールに関する公文書を調べ、共産党系ゲリラ部隊をテーマとする香港沙頭角抗戦記念館、および烏蛟騰烈士記念園を訪問し、調査を行った。今回収集した資料で、シティーホールの建設とゲリラ部隊をめぐるナラティブが、香港のアイデンティティ問題とどのように関連しているかについて、より的確な分析が可能になった。2）西日本を中心に計6箇所の戦争関連資料館を訪問し、平和をテーマとする公園など、資料館周辺の関連施設も訪れた。香港に関する資料はあまり見つからなかったものの、今回の調査成果は、本研究と日本を事例とする戦争記憶関連研究との対話に有用な情報となった。3）報告者は、香港の戦没者追悼式や香港文学における京都イメージなどをテーマとして論文を執筆した。それらは論文集に収録され、2023年度に刊行される予定である。また、香港社会や日本イメージ、戦争の記憶に関しても、書評や雑誌記事、講演という形式でそれぞれ一回ずつ執筆・発表した。研究全体については、「記憶」に関する理論、香港のアイデンティティ問題を振り返る部分、イギリスの記憶の文化とそれに対する英領香港の継承と発展を考察する部分、および中国の「抗日記憶」と香港における「中国人アイデンティティ」との関係を検討する部分は、博士論文の初稿として完成しており、修正の段階に入った。1997年の香港返還後、香港政府や親中派、政府に反対し香港の主体性を唱える個人や組織は、戦争の記憶をどのように扱い、「日本」がどのように表象されたのかを分析する部分を現在執筆中である。
