本年度の主たる研究実績の概要は次の通りである。1．源氏物語の用例分析をもとに、中古日本語において、「上下型相対敬語」を基盤とする「上下型の身内敬語の抑制」の事例が見られることを指摘し、このような中古日本語の敬語抑制のシステムが現代韓国語の敬語抑制のシステム（圧尊法）と同一の原理から成り立っている点を指摘した。また、日本語、韓国語の双方において、「上下型の身内敬語の抑制」のシステムが衰退する方向に進んできた（進んできている）反面、日本語では「内外型の身内敬語の抑制」のシステムが、韓国語では「身内敬語」のシステムが優勢となっており（優勢となってきており）、このことが、一般に、「相対敬語の日本語」、「絶対敬語の韓国語」として特徴づけられる所以となっている点を指摘した（澤田淳（2022）「中古日本語における敬語抑制のシステムについて―韓国語との対照を含めて―」青木博史・小柳智一・吉田永弘（編）『日本語文法史研究 6』ひつじ書房）。2．「日本語歴史コーパス（CHJ）」の調査から、古代語の近称指示詞「この」において、直示用法、照応用法のほかに、記憶指示用法が認められることを指摘した。さらに、遠称形式が記憶内の対象をニュートラルに指し示すのに対して、近称形式はさらにその対象が話し手の強い関心の中にあることを示すという相違があった点を指摘し、近称形式の記憶指示用法は、意味的な特殊性ゆえその使用が限定的であったために、意味的にニュートラル（無標）で汎用性の高かった遠称形式の記憶指示用法によって駆逐され、衰退していったとする試論を提示した（澤田淳・多田知子・岡田純子（2023）「古代語の近称指示詞「この」の記憶指示用法について―「かの」「あの」「その」との対照を含めて―」『青山語文』53、青山学院大学日本文学会）。
