2022年度は、「海陸ユーラシア交通とかかわるディアスポラ」研究に、以下の３つの視点から取り組み、一定の研究実績を挙げることができた。（１）帝国とディアスポラの関係について。帝国とかかわったディアスポラについては、帝国の拡大に押されて離散する被害者的な側面と、帝国の拡大を促進する協力者的な側面という、相反する方向性がありうる。13世紀ユーラシアのムスリム・ディアスポラについては、拡大する帝国（モンゴル）側の観点から多く論じられている。一方で、モンゴルの進攻に抵抗する側に立ったムスリム・ディアスポラの動向については、あまり取り上げられない。そこで、本年度は、12月10日の九州史学会シンポジウム「《アジアのなかの元寇防塁》」での報告「モンゴルの対外遠征における水と壁―対日本遠征と対ホラズム・南宋・ベトナム遠征の比較―」において、モンゴル軍に抵抗した陳朝大越国とチャンパーにおけるムスリム・ディアスポラの動向に着目した。（２）ディアスポラと文化変容との関係について。モンゴルが中国を支配した元代初期にエジプト人が製糖技術を福建にもたらし、元代末期に中国人の陳外郎が日本に渡り、砂糖菓子「ういろう」を作った。これらの例に着目し、「ふたつの『ういろう』―ポスト・モンゴルの海域交流が創った『唐物』―」河添房江・皆川雅樹（編）『アジア遊学 「唐物」とは何か―舶載品をめぐる文化形成と交流―』（勉誠出版）、「『透頂香』を生んだヒト・モノの連関」岡美穂子（編）『つなぐ世界史１ 古代・中世』（清水書院）を発表した。本研究により、越境するディアスポラが新たな文化の創出に果たす役割を浮かび上がらせることができた。（３）今回新たに、近代において日本と海陸ユーラシアをつないだムスリム・ディアスポラの研究にも取り組んだ。その成果は次年度以降、発表予定である。
