本研究は、道徳科の教科書教材について、自我発達段階が異なる複数の観点から教材分析を行い、段階の違いに基づく子どもの予想される複数の反応とそれに対応するコンピテンシーの達成度と課題を教材分析図上に明示するコンピテンシー・マップとそれを用いた課題選択型授業方法を検討し、子どもの発話分析と授業者へのインタビューを基にその有効性を確認することを目的としている。今年度も、前年度に引き続き、教科書教材についてコンピテンシー・モデルの各段階の観点から多面的多角的に教材分析を行い、より高い段階の観点につながる複数の探究課題と想定される反応をわかりやすく示したコンピテンシー・マップを作成した上で実際に授業を実施して子どもの学習活動と反応を確認しながらコンピテンシー・マップの修正を行う予定であった。道徳科の授業での子どもたちのワークシート記述に見られる視点や思考の発達の様子を自我発達段階の視点に基づいて修正型グラウンデッドセオリーを用いて分析し、道徳的資質・能力の発達モデルをより詳細に示した（吉田誠「自我発達段階の視点に基づく道徳的資質・能力の発達モデル構築の試み２―自意識的段階と良心的段階の水平的成長と垂直的発達を中心として―」、『山形大学教職・教育実践研究』18、2023年3月、43-54頁））。その他、自我発達段階の視点を基に道徳教育の目的と方法の正当性を捉える複数の基本原理を整理する試みを行った（吉田誠「相対主義を超えて含む道徳教育学構築のための基礎的研究－道徳教育の目的と方法の正当性を捉える基本原理の発達論的視点に基づく考察－」、『倫理道徳教育研究』第６号、2023年3月、46-60頁）。
