项目摘要

2020年度及び2021年度はCovid-19のパンデミックにより海外渡航ができなかったが、今年度は規制緩和により9月と12月の2回にわたり渡航し、在オーストリア資料の収集と閲覧、聞き取り調査、研究助言者によるアドバイスなど、大変大きな成果を得ることができた。特に今年度は、昨年度に見出すことができた元ナチス党員のトップスイマー、ヨーゼフ・パウカールに関するパーソナル文書の収集を集中的に実施することができた。9月の渡航調査においては、パウカールが元ナチス党員であったことに対し、戦後の非ナチ化政策下における自己の処遇に異議申立てをした抗告委員会に関する連邦内務省文書を発掘することができた。また、ナチス期から戦後のかけての新聞資料を閲覧、収集することにより、パウカールの1930年代から40年代におけるトップスイマーとしての活躍ぶりを明らかにすることもできた。さらに1950年代のパウカールをよく知る関係者への聞き取り調査を現地において敢行することもできた。12月の渡航調査においては、パウカールが当時所属していたスイミングクラブに関する資料を閲覧、収集し、またウィーン大学スポーツ科学研究所の研究助手ケンドラー女史の教示を受け、パウカールの人民裁判に関する資料を閲覧、収集することができた。加えて、ウィーン大学スポーツ科学研究所のミュルナー教授に直接会うことが叶い、本研究に関する有益な示唆の数々を頂いた。これにてパウカールに関する資料群の収集と閲覧は、ほぼ完了しており、来年度のに国内学会において、この成果を発表する予定である。また、先行研究の手法を検討した結果、ベルリンのリヒターフェルデにあるドイツ連邦文書館にオーストリアの元ナチス党員や元親衛隊員としての過去をもつ体育・スポーツ関係者に関する未見のパーソナル文書が多数存在していることも確認することができた。
