项目摘要

今年度はこれまでコロナ禍のために行うことが出来なかった久野芳隆が英仏等から持ち帰った敦煌遺書等の写真資料「久能野芳隆氏撮影西域出土文獻寫眞帖」を龍谷大学大宮図書館において調査することが出来た。原稿用紙の反故を裏返して、それに焼き付け写真を貼り付けたもので、すべて二十六帙に納められている。原写本はフランス国立図書館のものが多いが、大英博物館や、英国インド省図書館、ドイツのベルリン、ハンブルグ等のものも含まれる。言語から見ると、禅籍を含む漢文仏典以外にも、梵文、コータン文、チベット文、西夏文などが見られる。この写真集は戦後の昭和二十年代に龍谷大学が久野の将来フイルムを用いて印画したものらしいことが、中に記された注記によってうかがわれる。また細かに注記を見ていくと、「石濱氏」「石濱氏へ」などと記入されていることから、この資料の保存作成に石濱純太郎の関与が推測される。石濱は龍谷大学の講師を勤めており、昭和二十八年から五年間にわたり行われた文部省の助成による綜合研究の代表者であった。その成果として公刊された『西域文化研究』七巨册は日本における敦煌吐魯番学の画期的な研究成果であった。久野芳隆は昭和十九年、台北帝国大学の南方文化研究所に奉職中、航空機事故により死亡している。その写真フィルムを元に、龍谷大学が印画して今日に伝えられた經緯はすこぶる興味深いものがあるが、石濱の仲介によると思われる材料があり、現在それを確認中である。今年度までに調査を終えた他の「老照片」将来の背景についても、学術史的な観点から研究を進めた。
