项目摘要

本研究はカタカナ語（外来語）の効果的な語彙指導・学習を検討するため，語彙知識の一つである「使用」に着目して，文脈や場面によってカタカナ語とその類義の和語や漢語がどのように使い分けられているのかを明らかにすることをめざすものである。昨年度，予備調査をおこなった中上級レベルの日本語学習者と日本語母語話者を対象者とした使い分けに関する質問紙調査について検討をして新たな質問紙を作成し，今年度は本調査としての実施に着手している。調査項目はカタカナ語とその類義語が使われる文脈を設定して，ふさわしいと思う語を選ぶ問いと両者の違いについて自由記述する問いからなる。調査語彙は基本的な外来語で使用頻度の高いサ変動詞とその類義語のうち，これまでの調査で母語話者が使い分けに一定の基準を持つことが明らかになった３つのペア（計６語）である。問いで提示した文脈は，辞書の語義や用例と先におこなった調査で学習者や母語話者が産出した文等を参考にして設定した。現在，データの収集を進めている。なお，カタカナ語と類義語の使い分けに関してこれまでに収集したデータを分析し口頭発表をおこなった研究成果は，いただいた意見を参考にして論文として投稿するため加筆修正しまとめた。また，既存のコーパスを用いたカタカナ語と類義語の使い分けも調査してきたが，カタカナ語の使用の実態をさらに探るため，母語話者がどのような文脈や場面でどのようなカタカナ語を使用しているのか具体的なデータを収集し分析する新たな調査を検討している。
