项目摘要

本科研はSTEM (数理科学系)専攻大学生が必要とする英語力向上プログラム開発を目指している。これまでにSTEM専門家教員と学生を対象にニーズアセスメントを実施し、広範囲に及ぶ多様なニーズを明らかにした。その分析により浮かび上がったのは、国際学会における英語使用の必要性であった。STEM専攻学生が、学術的な国際学会やイベントに参加したり発表したりする場合には、英語でのアカデミックライティングとプレゼンテーションスキルが求められることとなる。そこで2022年度は2観点からの研究、すなわち１）国際学会発表準備ワークショップの設計と試行、そして２）動画録画によるプレゼンテーション演習の効果検証予備調査を行った。１）国際学会参加準備ワークショップでは、これまでに得られたニーズ分析調査に基づいて、英語教員2名と専門科目教員1名、合計3名の教員が細かな教案と教材を作成した。2022年度に国際学会で発表が決定している学生合計6名に渡航前、事前準備としてワークショップに参加してもらい、その様子を録画し、帰国後は学会での体験とワークショップの効果について振り返りのインタビューを実施した。そこで明らかになった効果と課題について論文にまとめ、2023年度大学英語教育学会(JACET)関東支部大会にて発表予定である。２）プレゼンテーション準備では発表内容と同時にdelivery （話し方）も重要要素である。Delivery を改善させるため、自分の発表を2回録画して練習する実践を行い、その効果測定を行った。録画された動画データを3名の英語教員が評価し、スコアをラッシュ分析を用いて検証した。その結果は途中経過として全国語学教育学会（JALT）国際大会にて発表した。今後はこの予備調査を拡大して実践し結果を分析する予定である。
