项目摘要

第一に、接触するテレビ局をランダムに割り当てるサーベイ実験を行い、その局の報道が政府の対外政策を称賛した場合、接触したテレビ局に対する受け手の好感度が変化するかを検討した。その結果、NHKが政府の対外政策を称賛すると、「公共放送たるNHKは中立であるべき」と考える有権者から反発を集めることが分かった。一方、民放が政府の対外政策を称賛した場合には、左派的な有権者の反発が強まっていた。以上の知見をまとめた論文はPolitical Behaviorから公刊された。第二に、2000年代以降の世論調査を利用し、2012年衆院選以降の日本で、中道層ほど政治に参加しなくなったことを確認した。この成果論文はSocial Science Japan Journalから出版された。第三に、2000年代以降の自民党の部会人事を整理し、候補者アンケートデータと併せて、外交部会や国防部会で役職を得てきた議員の政策位置を検証した。その結果、2012年衆院選以降に右派的な若手議員ほど、外交部会や国防部会で役職を得ている傾向が確認された。この成果は日本公共政策学会で報告したところ、若手最優秀報告賞を授与された。第四に、新型コロナウイルス感染症の流行を踏まえて、有権者の政治態度を検証した。具体的には2020年3月から4月に回収した世論調査を分析し、(A)有権者は実際に経済状況が悪化するより前の段階から、景気対策や財政出動を望んでいたこと、(B)外交・安全保障では態度変化が見られないことを確認した。新型コロナウイルス感染症が流行する初期段階での世論調査は世界的にも希少で、この成果論文はJournal of Elections, Public Opinion and Partiesから出版された。
