協力的な社会を維持するための原理の一つとして直接互恵性がある。直接互恵性とは、以前自分を援助してくれた相手を選択して援助するという「持ちつ持たれつ」な関係性のことである。幼児間でみられる直接互恵的な向社会的行動のやり取りは、安定した友達間で成立しやすく社会的な関係構築の基礎となることから、社会性の発達において重要であると考えられてきた。この直接互恵性を成立させるための至近要因として「感謝」があげられる。向社会的にふるまってくれた相手に感謝することによって、その相手へのお返しの向社会的行動が動機づけられ、協力的な対人関係が構築・維持されていく。本研究は、感謝が向社会的行動を動機づけるのかを発達的側面から検討することを目的とし、感謝理解や感謝行動が幼児の社会的関係構造にどのような影響を及ぼすのかを明らかにすることを目指した。2022年度は、集団保育場面における5歳児同士のやり取りの観察データから、相手の行動に応じた直接互恵性が成立しているのか、直接互恵性の成立と感謝行動に関連が見られるのかを検討した。その結果、5歳児はコントロール場面と比較して相手から向社会的行動を受けた後に、その相手に向社会的行動のお返しを示しやすかった。ポジティブな感情の表れとされる親和的行動も向社会的行動後場面において、受け手の児が高い頻度で示すことが分かった。助けてもらった際の相手への好感や嬉しいというポジティブな感情が、直接互恵性の成立において重要なのではないかと考えられる。
