本研究は、妊娠期から離乳までの母親を追跡することで、当事者である母親の経験から現状に基づいた情報提供を開発することが目的である。研究参加者4名に対し妊娠期から離乳期にかけて1名につき6回程度のインタビューを実施した。インタビューは、妊娠後期・2週間健診・1か月健診・３～４か月健診・６～７カ月健診・９～１０か月健診・1歳半健診後に行い、授乳や授乳に関する困り事、授乳期に起こり得るぼしの身体的・心理的・社会的な出来事と対処法や思い、お子様の様子、困り事の解決策などについて自由に語っていただいた。4名中2名は卒乳を迎え、1名は母乳育児を継続しており今後インタビューを継続する予定である。残りの1名は今後1か月半健診後のインタビューを実施する予定である。インタビュー時間は1名につき20～60分程度であり、参加者の希望によりオンライン・電話・メールでインタビューを行った。研究参加者の授乳方法は完全母乳栄養、混合栄養であったが、子どもの成長や復職、保育園への入園、授乳にまつわるトラブル等により方法を変えていた。今後、1名ずつの語りを分析しそれぞれの経験について丁寧にまとめていく。それらをもとに、授乳を行う母親の経験に基づいた「情報提供支援プログラム」開発につなげる。それにより、母乳育児のイメージをより現実に近づけることができ、女性たちが自らの状況に合った授乳方法をみつけることができる支援を受けることが可能になると考える。
