In this project we aimed to study an effect of phonon mode excitation on an excited state dynamics in organic crystals. We have developed an optical set up that generates femtosecond pulse trains with variable pulse repetition rates in order to excite phonon modes with mode selective fashion. We applied it to singlet fission process in rubrene crystal and investigated the effect of the phonon excitations on the fission rates. We also studied a coherent phonon dynamics in rubrene crystal during the fission process.
