项目摘要

本研究は、王権の神的権威を重視し服従を要請するカルヴァン派の政治思想の中から、王権への抵抗を唱える論者たちが登場したことの理由の解明を課題とし、手掛かりを王権論のうちに求めようとするものである。それゆえ研究は2つの異なる側面から成り立つ。(1)カルヴァン派抵抗権思想についての研究と(2)ヨーロッパ王権論の伝統についての研究である。以下、二つを分けて報告する。(1)カルヴァン派抵抗権思想については、今年度、基本となる一次文献および研究文献の購入・収集をおこなった。これまで入手できていなかった資料の欠如を補い、研究の基盤を整えられた。このテーマの今年度の業績としては、書評１本を挙げたい。イギリス人研究者Anna Rosensbergの手によるカルヴァン派抵抗権思想をめぐる著書を対象としたものである。また、未発表ではあるが、入手した資料の分析の結果、カルヴァン派論者による抵抗の主張はの根拠には、2つの異なる論理（神の命令と人民主権）があったという見通しを得、着想を学会報告原稿にする作業を進めた。(2)ヨーロッパ王権論にかんしては、まず基礎知識のインプットに努めた。マルク・ブロックや堀米庸三など、古典的な中世研究の文献に学び、研究の前提となる知識を固めた。同時に、近年盛んにおこなわれている新しい研究の動向を把握することに努めた。デシモン(Robert Descimon)やジュアンナ(Arlette Jouanna)、ディーフェンドルフ(Barbara Diefendorf)、中澤達哉、岩井淳など、王権概念を問い直す研究がなされている。これらの人々の研究文献を入手し、読み込む作業を進めている。
