项目摘要

《研究内容と方法》①台湾において日本の小学校に使用可能な絵本の収集(11月)。②台中市内の小学校等で授業を参観、同校付属図書館での観察・調査(11月)。③国内の小学校での研究会等の紀要や資料を参照し、書くことを取り入れた活動が可能な英語絵本とそのCan-Doリストの候補を選定する(11月)。④国内の中高等学校で公開されているCan-Doリストを参照し、書くことを取り入れた活動のCan-Doリストを選定する。⑤絵本型カリキュラムを勤務校と協力校にて授業実践を行いICレコーダーで児童の発表等を録音し、到達度やCan-Doリストの加筆・修正を行う(12月)。⑥上記で得られた結果をもとに、書くことを取り入れた絵本型カリキュラムとCan-Doリストを作成して地区の小学校教員に配布し、使用可能性に関するフィードバックをアンケート調査による実施。《研究の成果》Graded Readersを中心に作成した一覧表には、あらすじ・繰り返しのある表現・書くことを取り入れた活動例・活動に沿ったCan-Doリストを示した。日記を作成して紹介したり、絵本に出てくる登場人物や繰り返しのある英語表現を使って3ヒントクイズを行ったりする課題を与えて活動した。児童は、クイズの答えやヒントの一部を書くことで文字の負担が減り、意欲を継続させて活動できた。市内の小学校教員によるアンケート調査等では、これらの絵本を使用した活動とその活動のCan-Doリストを一覧表に付加したことで、課題解決型外国語活動をしていない教員でも、書く活動を取り入れてみたいと答えた教員が多かった。「ぜひ、カリキュラムに取り入れてみたい」という意見があるなか、依然として書くことに抵抗示す意見があり、国語科の中学年で学習するローマ字との関連性をどのように結びつけるかが課題として挙げられた。さらに、児童の書字指導において小文字のr, h, nの混同が見られた。書くことについて現段階では正式に指導されていないが、絵本型の活動を軸として活動内容を具体的に示し、アルファベットの音韻認識を育てながら文字指導を徐々に始めていく時期に入ってきている。
