项目摘要

《研究内容と方法》①シンガポールにおいて絵本の収集(8月)。②シンガポール市内の小学校等で授業を参観、同校付属図書館での観察・調査(8月)。③英語絵本の選択基準をもとに、サンプル用絵本を段階別に10冊程度選択。④英語絵本の読み聞かせのための「CAN-DOリスト」を地区の小学校教員に配布し、アンケートにより実施。⑤絵本型CAN-DOリストの作成(3月)。《研究の成果》・Oxford Reading Treeを中心に作成した一覧表には, あらすじ・繰り返しのある表現・活動例・活動に沿ったCAN-DOリストを示した。これらの絵本を使用した活動とその活動のCAN-DOリストを一覧表に付加したことで、教師が指導する際の見通しをもつことができ、授業に使用可能かどうかの判断や絵本を使ってどのような授業を組み立てたらよいかが明確になった。・小学校教員によるアンケート調査等では、Oxford Reading Treeでも、曜日や天気の言語材料を扱った日記形式の絵本やcanを繰り返し使った絵本の採用希望が多かった。児童へのアンケート調査では低学年に読み聞かせるための紙芝居を作成することは活動の目的がはっきりしており、さらに、繰り返しのある英語表現を発表していくため、発表終了後の達成感が得られることが明らかになった。・課題として、教員のアンケート調査では、書くことを盛り込んだカリキュラムについての要望があった。日記風の絵本をもとに紙芝居を作成していくとどうしても過去形の言語材料が多くなり, 今までの活動にはなじまない表現があるのではという考え方があった。また、書くことについては現段階では小学校での指導はなされていないものの、小学校3年生から習うローマ字を皮切りにどのような段階を経て書くことのカリキュラム作成を行うか、絵本型を軸として活動内容を検討する必要がある。
