本研究では、ICTの活用による児童が真のコミュニケーションを行える授業内容の精査・教材開発を試みた。具体的には、これまで行ってきた交流授業の内容やプレゼンテーションの方法を工夫し、やりとりを重視するとともに、活動後のフィードバックを重視した内容とした。実際には、外国語活動において、本校(富浦小)と台湾の台中市立大同國民小學の児童がSkypeを用いて交流する活動を行った。本校においては、平成26年度より科研費を受けて、台湾の小学生との交流授業を行ってきた。本年度は5年生が「身近な日本の文化について紹介しよう」という単元で授業を行った。本児童は、昨年度も「日本のお正月を紹介しよう」という単元で交流授業を実施している。昨年度からの継続的な交流授業の実施により、台湾の国土や文化、Skypeでの英語を用いた交流への興味・関心も高まり、主体的に活動に取り組む姿が見られた。紹介するテーマも、自分たちが日常的に取り組んでいる百人一首や書道、ジャンケン、海外でも人気の高いアニメの主題歌などにし、実際に行って見せたり、一緒に歌ったりして、より活発な交流が図られていた。国語や社会科等他教科と関連した教科横断的な内容となった。児童は、言葉でのやりとりに加え、表情やジェスチャーなどノンバーバルな表現も活用しながらの即時的な交流を図っていた。指導者も表現や伝え方が適切であるか即時的に評価することができ、振り返りと次の活動への見通しをもたせることが容易にできた。事後に大同國民小學を訪問し、職員や児童とフィードバックを共有できた。大同國民小學の児童と百人一首の坊主めくりを一緒に行い、活動内容の理解を深めることもできた。本研究を通して、児童は英語でコミュニケーションできる喜びを体感していた。今後は、新学習指導要領実施に向けて、ICTの活用により児童のコミュニケーションを図る基礎となる資質・能力を更に育てていきたい。
