本研究の目的は、指導が難しいとされる投げ技の指導場面で使用する指導ことばに着目して、武道指導の経験の少ない女性教員であっても、投げ技による攻防の楽しさを生徒に味わわせることができる指導法を提案することであった。そこで、教師が生徒に対してどのような指導ことばを用いれば、生徒の技能向上が図られ、安全に攻防の楽しさを味わわせる授業実践ができるのかを明らかにするために研究を進めた。検証授業は、中学校で初めて柔道を学ぶ生徒と教員経験4年の若手教員を対象として行った。指導計画は、武道の伝統的な行動の仕方、基本動作、基本となる技を身に付け、相手との攻防を楽しむことができる生徒の育成を目指して立案した。検証授業は、(1)教師の指導ことば、(2)生徒の技能変容、(3)生徒の主観による授業評価の3つに分けて分析を行った。(1)教師の指導ことば教師には、あらかじめ基本動作や基本となる技を指導する際に使用する指導ことばを提示した。提示した指導ことばの中でも「引き手は必ず持ったまま投げる」という安全を念頭に置いた指導ことばの評価は、生徒と教師の双方ともに高い。その一方で、間合い、崩し、体さばきなど柔道特有の動きを指導する際に使う指導ことばの教師の評価は低かった。(2)生徒の技能変容検証授業では動きながらの約束練習を4時間行った。生徒は、「取は引き手を離さない」「受は投げられた方向に無理なく転がっている」「受は頭頸部を畳にぶつけていない」といった重篤な怪我を防ぐために必要な技能は高めることができた。(3)生徒の主観による授業評価教師による個別指導が生徒の技能向上につながった本検証授業の生徒の授業評価は、形成的授業評価も診断的・総括的授業評価も高かった。以上の結果から、指導ことばを含めた指導計画の提示が、柔道指導の経験の少ない教員が安全で効果的な授業実践につながったものと考えられる。
