Altmetricsは"alternative metrics"を略した造語であり、従来の引用ベースの研究評価指標を補完する新しい指標として期待されている。Altmetricsは、研究論文に代表される個別の学術成果物に関して、ソーシャルメディアやオンライン文献管理ソフト等のWeb上の利用状況を集約することで、その数量的指標を即時に表示することができる。本研究では、機関リポジトリへのAltmetrics表示機能の実装方法の調査とAltmetricsの指標から見る機関リポジトリの利用状況を調査した。1. 機関リポジトリにおけるAltmetrics機能の実装についてAltmetric.com、ImpactStory、PlumAnalyticsの3つが代表的なAltmetricsの提供サービスである。本研究ではAltmetric.comの機関リポジトリへの実装方法を中心に調査し、岡山大学の機関リポジトリである「岡山大学学術成果リポジトリ」にAltmetrics表示機能等を実装した。Altmetric.com及びImpactStoryは無償でAPIを公開しており、主要な機関リポジトリシステムならば、比較的容易に実装することが可能である。2. Altmetricsの指標から見るオープンアクセス論文の利用についてAltmetricsを取得するには論文固有のID(DOI、PubmedID等)が必要であり、機関リポジトリのコンテンツのうち、固有IDを持つものを対象に利用状況を調査した。対象コンテンツについて、Altmetrics総数値(Altmetricスコア)と引用数の関係、Altmetrics総数値とダウンロード数の関係、Altmetricsのうち、特にMendeley(オンライン文献管理ソフト)保存数と引用数の関係を調査したが、それぞれの間には相関関係は見られなかった。現段階では、機関リポジトリにおけるAltmetricsの指標は、学術的な指標ではなく、それを補完するものである傾向が強いと思われる。3. 今後の課題について機関リポジトリに多数登録されている紀要論文は固有IDをもっていないものが多い。今後はJapan Link Centerによる国内の学術コンテンツへのDOI付与が可能になるため、機関リポジトリコンテンツのAltmetrics指標の調査のためにも、各機関が機関リポジトリにDOIが付与されるよう対応することが望ましい。Altmetricsの実装方法及びその利用分析については、SPARC JAPANセミナー及びDRF10で発表した。
