项目摘要

本年度は、Hale ＆ Keyser(1997)の語彙レベルの統語論で日本語の述語を分析、語彙内部の構造に関する一般化を確立する試みを行った。その結果、日本語の感情形容詞はH ＆ K(1997)で提示されたclearのケースと同様、語彙内部での派生が行われ、それが通常の形容詞にはない主語の人称制限を生起する原因であるという結論に達した。また、Chomskyの文レベルの統語論の最新分析に基づき、日本語の人称をどのように表示するかについてより厳密な分析を試みた。その結果、直説法単純現在時制の場合と何らかの時制・法要素が加わった場合では、論理形式にかかわるフェイズが異なるため、論理形式での人称解釈に解釈不可能要素が残ると考えれば、日本語感情形容詞の主語の人称制限が説明できるという中間的結論を出した。前年度に続き日本語学における関連文献を収集し、それらの分析を検証した。研究の過程において、感情形容詞と他の品詞、とりわけ動詞との派生的関連が新たな問題として浮かび上がった。日本語に関しては、Morphology and Lexicon Forum(平成12年3月26日東京大学)にて"A Lexical-syntactic Approach to Japanese Psychological Predicates:A Preliminary Analysis"という題目で発表を行った。また、非対格性と英語の過去分詞の派生のレベルについて、The 2000 International Workshop on Generative Grammar(平成12年7月7日ソウル:漢城大学)にて奥聡北海道大学助教授と共同で"Perfective Morpheme and its Semantic Properties in English"という題目で発表を行い、論文集に掲載された。
