本研究では、多品種少量生産にも耐えられるように構成された自動化生産システム、いわゆるフレキシブルマニュファクチュアリングシステムの性能を理論的に評価するためのモデルの開発を行い、以下の結果を得た。1.複数台の端末機械から有限バッファをもつ1台の中央機械にジョブが流れるいわゆる中央サ-バ-モデルと、バッファのない並列処理機械モデルとの間にある双対関係があることを証明した。すなわち、中央サ-バ-モデルにおける処理待ち中の端末台数と並列処理機械モデルにおける作業中の機械台数が、確率過程として等価であることを示した。バッファのない並列処理機械モデルは、通信トラフィック理論における電話交換機のモデルとして従前より様々な拡張と一般化が行われており、この双対関係を用いることで、中央サ-バ-モデルに対しても対応する拡張と一般化を改めてモデルを解き直すことなしに直ちに得ることが可能となった。以上の成果は、1991年7月16日〜18日に軽井沢で開催された第26回Summer Seminar on Operations Researchおよび日本OR学会1991年度秋季研究発表会で報告され、論文“Duality between the M/G/s/s and GI/M/I/s/s Queues"として雑誌Computer & Mathematics with Applications,Vol.22(1992)に掲載される予定である。2.交付申請書中の研究計画に記載した有限バッファをもつマニュファクチュアリングセルの近似解析モデルとして、有限待合い室をもつM/G/s待つ行列の定常状態確率に対する近似式を導出した。この近似式を用いることで、ブロッキング確率を所与の値以下に設定するための最適バッファサイズ等の特性量に対する明示的な公式を導出する事ができた。以上の成果は、日本OR学会『待ち行列』研究部会(1991年10月・東京工大)および同学会関西支部『応用確率論』研究部会(同年12月・関西大)で報告され、現在論文にまとめている。

This study is a theoretical evaluation of the performance of automated production systems composed of multi-species and small-volume production systems. The following results are obtained. 1. A plurality of end machines are limited in number and a central machine is arranged in parallel to each other. The number of machines in operation, the accuracy of the process, etc. are indicated. In the case of parallel processing machinery, communication theory, telephone exchange, the former is generalized, the latter is generalized, and the former is generalized. These results were presented in the paper "Duality between the M/G/s/s and GI/M/s/s Queue" presented at the 26th Summer Seminar on Operations Research, held from July 16 to 18, 1991, and published in Computer & Mathematics with Applications, Vol. 22 (1992). 2. The approximate analysis of the steady-state accuracy of the M/G/s queue with finite latency is derived from the study plan in the submission application. The approximate formula is used to derive the explicit formula for the characteristic quantity of the optimal solution. The above results were reported by the Japan OR Society's "Waiting for the Line" Research Committee (October 1991, Tokyo Institute of Technology) and the Kansai Branch of the Alumni Association's "Use Accuracy Theory" Research Committee (December 1991, Kansai University).
