体系的・網羅的に口腔癌の癌化・悪性化の基盤にある遺伝子異常を解明し、「個性診断」や「分子標的治療」に必要十分な癌関連遺伝子を同定することを目的に、ゲノム・エピゲノムレベルから蛋白レベルまでのアレイ技術を中心とする多項目遺伝子異常解析、口腔癌とその前癌病変の臨床検体収集と臨床・病理学的情報のデータベース化と解析、細胞株を駆使した遺伝子の強制発現や発現抑制による、標的遺伝子候補の機能解析を行った。
