This research tried to reveal how rising economic inequality had affected the government's redistribution through voters' knowledge, attitudes, and behavior. The main research question was why the amount of redistribution dramatically differs across industrial democracies. In order to answer the question, I examined micro-level data. Analyzing the dataset collected, it was confirmed that the citizens who underestimate the level of inequality prefer the reduction of redistribution, and that those who overestimate the level prefer the larger amount of redistribution.

本研究试图通过选民的知识、态度和行为来揭示经济不平等的加剧如何影响政府的再分配。主要的研究问题是，为什么工业民主国家之间的再分配数量差异巨大。为了回答这个问题，我研究了微观层面的数据。通过对收集到的数据进行分析，证实了低估不平等程度的公民倾向于减少再分配，而高估不平等程度的公民则倾向于增加再分配。
