Epigenetic regulation of pancreatic beta cell function by Pdx1 transcription factor complex

胰腺十二指肠同源盒-1蛋白(Pdx1)是一种转录因子，在调节胰岛发育和胰岛素基因表达中起关键作用。本研究旨在鉴定Pdx1转录因子复合体，并研究其在胰岛素基因转录调控和成熟β细胞功能表观遗传调控中的生理作用。这项研究的结果导致探索糖尿病中β细胞衰竭的强调机制，并确定有助于表征β细胞分化和再生的成熟功能β细胞的表观遗传学标志。

Pancreatic duodenal homeobox-1 protein (Pdx1) is a transcription factor that plays a critical role in the regulation of pancreatic islet development and insulin gene expression. This study aimed to identify Pdx1 transcription factor complex and characterize its physiological roles in the regulation of insulin gene transcription and epigenetic control of mature beta cell function. The results of this study lead to exploring the underlined mechanism of beta cell failure in diabetes, and identifying the epigenetic hallmark for mature functioning beta cells useful for the characterization of beta cell differentiation and regeneration.
