Researches on Genetic Resources of Domestic and Wild Animals in Myanmar

Research investigation was conducted during Dec.16-Jan, 13 for genetical studied on native live stock and wild animals in Myanmar. Group A (Dr.Maeda, Dr.Nozawa. Dr.Kurosawa apd Dr.Tanaka) visited at Midkyiina, Lasho, Monywa and Pyi, bur group B visited Bpgaray, Yangon, Mandaray, Shiebo, Kalle, Hakka, Mormaing and Paann. For researches at local areas, we were helped and supported by scientist of the Livestock Breeding and Veterinary Department in Myanmar.For animals for genetical study, Cattle, horse, pig, goat, sheep, chicken, duck, gayal, jungle fowl and wild mice were researched, and those external character, body size, blood type, protein polymorphism, DNA polymorphism were investigated. It was recognized that cattle, horse, goat and pig are affected from native livestock from India.During visit at Myanmar, Japanese team had seminars and academic exc hange wjth scientists in Myanmar. We had workshop on the measurement of body size with tool of measure, on the methods of correction of field data, and on the methods of studies on population genetics
