本研究では，自己調整学習の能力が十分に成熟できていない初等中等教育段階の児童生徒に対して個別最適な教育を真に実現するために，①学習データを自己調整学習につながるリフレクションが促されるように児童生徒に情報提供することのみならず，②教員が学習者の学習状況を適切に把握し最適な個別の学習支援を行うことと，③保護者がこれらの対応について理解し学校に協力できるための情報共有を行うことが不可欠であると考え，データ駆動型教育の観点から，①：児童生徒に学習リフレクションを促す学習データ提供手法，②：教員に学習状況を適切に可視する学習データサマライズ手法，③：保護者に学習状況を適切に共有する学習データ連携手法の3つの柱を立てて研究を進めている。1年次（2022年度）においては，1人1台の情報端末やクラウドの利活用の程度と児童生徒の情報活用能力の程度の把握，その関係の検討や，これに対する教師の手立て，教員研修等との関係について検討を行った。これに関わる研究発表および査読論文等を発表した。2年次（2023年度）については，ダッシュボードの指標や学習データサマライズ手法，保護者と学校の学習データ連携を促すための手法について検討を進める。そのためにこれまで通り広く各分担者による個別研究を進めるほか，学校現場の実状についてヒアリング等を繰り返し，何がボトルネックになっているかについての検討を重ねる。並行して，文部科学省や中央教育審議会等の教育政策の関係者とも連携し，研究成果の社会実装に向けた取り組みも行う。
