(1)『朝鮮王朝実録』CD-ROM版(1996)が日本でも発売されたので、それを利用した語彙「琉球」の検索が可能となった。本研究班の成果である『韓国の沖縄関係資料情報(1)』を改定・増補しながら、さらに精度の高い研究資料情報となるように努力した。実際には、100項目近く追加した増補版を作成した。(2)本研究班は、ソウル大学校奎章閣・韓国国史編纂委員会等での史料調査を行い、新たな琉朝関係史料として、次の資料の他10種の資料の発見に努めた。1,『接待倭人事例』(1冊・89張。ソウル大学校奎章閣所蔵、図書請求番号9753)2,『済州啓録』(5冊、写本。ソウル大学校奎章閣所蔵、図書請求番号15099、「済州啓録」大韓民国文教部国史編纂委員会編『各司謄録19、全羅道編2』大韓民国文教部国史編纂委員会編,pp.1-228(3)琉球・朝鮮間の漂流・漂着データ・ベース・フォーマットの作成作業に着手し、暫定的に次の項目を選定した。1 史料名、2 記載日、3 記載項目、4 記載のフォーマット、5 漂流・漂着時期、6 漂流者 名と人数、7 漂流者の出身地、8 漂流者の民族・国籍、9 漂流・漂着地、10 本国への送還 経路とその時期、11 自力回航かどうか、12 その他これらの個別的な項目を各漂流事件に関して、関係各国(琉球・朝鮮の当事国、経由国である中国・日本の4カ国)の史料を可能な限り突き合わせながら、漂流年表を作成することで、資料的制約の壁を乗り越えるように努めた。
