明物記の最古かつ最重要なものとされる『君台観左右帳記』について、その全国に在在する120を越える写本を確認した。それらに関して画人録の部分を比較して、初期・中期・後期を判別できることは文献学的に推定できるところであったが、我々の研究によって統計的に明確にできることが解っていた。従来その判別は集合の対称差、あるいは画人順序の順位相関を非類似度として数量化4類を使用した。今回は、さらにALSCALあるいはクラスター分析も併用し、その分類の確実性を確認した。さらに、違う観点から分析するために、漆工の部分に注目した。すなわちある漆工の手法(堆紅など)を解説している文章にでてくるキーワードを選び出し、そのワードが解説に出現するかどうかを注目し、数量化3類を適用した。その結果、従来「宗珠宛」として一括されていたもののうち、東博本は至って系統が違うことが明らかとなった。従来は、何となく後世の補充があると思われていたにとどまっていた。このような文章は統計的に調査することによって、人間が読んで感ずる類似性をよりうまく表現できることが解った。
